Sister City Tainan, Taiwan to Donate PPE to Truman Medical Center

KC Parks is excited to announce our Sister City Tainan, Taiwan plans to make another important donation of PPE to Truman Medical Center, 2301 Holmes Road, on Thursday, August 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Kansas City’s Sister City Committee is very thankful for the 5,800 medical use surgical masks and 300 protective goggles that will be donated to Truman Medical Center. Tainan previously shipped 100,000 surgical masks in May so these are additional items from the Tainan City budget.

Along with the shipment, they have sent name-embroidered jerseys of Tainan’s pro baseball team Lions to Mayor Lucas and the Royals mascot as a token of appreciation for their video appearance in the event for “America Day” on July 3rd.

Incidentally, it was a Taiwanese engineer, Peter Tsai, who developed the technology needed for N95 mask production. More>>
