{NEWS} KC Parks Opens Area’s First Wheelchair Softball Field in Pleasant Valley Park

WHAT: A ribbon cutting ceremony and official first pitch for the newly completed adaptive softball field followed by wheelchair softball games.

WHERE: Pleasant Valley Road Athletic Complex, 6401 N.E. Pleasant Valley Road

WHEN:  Saturday, July 11 at 9 a.m.

MORE: This field has been years in the making and Phase 1 was completed this past Fall. Due to Winter and COVID-19 it has had to been unused until now. It is the first Wheelchair Softball Field in Kansas City, Missouri and the region. The closest other fields are located in Topeka, Omaha and St.Louis. Wheelchair softball players/teams from throughout the Midwest have been invited to attend and we are expecting a good turnout for our new field. The $150,000 field was funded through a public/private partnership.
