Five KCMO residents, appointed by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, were sworn in today as Kansas City Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners. The volunteer Parks Board is charged with improving the quality of life for Kansas Citians by providing recreational, leisure and aesthetic opportunities for all residents and by conserving and enhancing the environment.
“Kansas Citians have made it clear that they would like their municipal government to prioritize the development of green space and walking paths, to take bold climate action, and to remain focused on city beautification efforts as we continue our work to better provide essential services to all of our residents,” said Mayor Lucas. “I look forward to working with the Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners to meet and exceed these objectives and to continue advancing the needs and interests of our community members. I thank Jack, Mary, Chris, David and Scott for accepting this responsibility.”
