Proposals Now Being Accepted for 15 and The Mahomies Foundation Funded Destination Site in MLK Square Park

The City of Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a one-of-a-kind team to build a one-of-a -kind destination play site in Martin Luther King Square Park.  The Design Build Request for Proposals for the new MLK Park Renovation is open and is now available on the KCMO website.  Technical and price submittals are due on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.  The two Mandatory Pre-Bid Meetings are set for September 24th and October 1st, virtually via the MS Teams link provided in the RFP.  Price Submittals will be open October 20, 2020.

This innovative play site in Martin Luther King Square Park located at Swope Parkway and Woodland Avenue, calls for a community-driven approach in planning and implementation. The selected vendor will work closely with the Community Design Team and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation to design and construct an inclusive play site that honors Dr. King’s legacy.  Potential design teams can get more information in the Kansas City Plan Room. http://www.kcmoplanroom.org/
