In celebration of National Park and Recreation Month, the West Coast-style taco joint will offer a picnic package with a portion of proceeds to benefit Kansas City parks throughout July.
Mission Taco Joint has your summer picnic planned. The West Coast-style street food concept with two Kansas City locations (East Crossroads at 409 E 18th St., Kansas City, MO and South Plaza at 5060 Main St., Kansas City, MO) announces a collaboration with Kansas City Parks and Recreation: Picnics in the Park. In celebration of July’s Park and Recreation Month, Mission Taco Joint will offer a portable, to-go picnic package ($30) six tacos or two burritos, chips and salsa, and two beverages, available from the South Plaza location only from July 1 through July 31, and 20% of picnic package sales will be donated to KC Parks.
“With Loose Park so close to our South Plaza location, we wanted to have a fun partnership with Kansas City Parks and Rec,” said Co-Owner Adam Tilford. “It’s a great way to connect with the surrounding neighborhood. Kansas City has so many beautiful parks, and we wanted to give back during the summer when everyone is outside and offer an easy way for them to have a picnic from us and enjoy the weather.”
Win a free Picnic in the Park Package
Up to fifteen certificates for a free picnic package will be hidden in different parks surrounding the South Plaza area throughout the month of July. Kansas City Parks and Rec will post on social media with clues as to where they are hidden. Follow their accounts on Facebook @kcmoparks, Instagram @kcmoparks and Twitter @kcmoparks. Each certificate expires on July 31 and is redeemable only at the South Plaza location of Mission Taco Joint.
