There are several ways to get involved:
- KC Parks Ambassadors – For individuals interested in volunteering 3+ hours per month. Apply here.
- KC Parks Partners – For neighborhood and community organizations interested in adopting a park (annual commitment)
- One-time volunteer activities – For individuals or groups

Ja’Nell Luckie, Resident Engagement Coordinator
Ja’Nell joined KC Parks this month after serving several months as a KC Parks Ambassador. A graduate of Jackson State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work, Ja’Nell has experience working with diverse populations and is passionate about engaged, healthy communities. In her new role, she will help organize volunteer projects and onboard new KC Parks Partners. Welcome, Ja’Nell!
Kelly Jander, Resident Engagement Officer
A lifelong Kansas City area resident, Kelly joined KC Parks just over a year ago. She manages the new KC Parks Ambassador program, volunteer groups, the KC Parks Partner program, and various community engagement efforts. If you’re interested in making a difference in one of our 221 KC Parks, Kelly will connect you or your organization with the opportunities that best fit your preferences.
