The City of Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation will be celebrating Lights On Afterschool in some special ways. Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement. The Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things——and discover new skills. This year Afterschool programs have saved many communities by offering Virtual Learning Hubs. KC Parks is no exception, offering Virtual Learning Sites throughout the KC area. KC Parks offers various links of ways to celebrate Afterschool and the work KC Parks does for our families.
