Brand New Introductory Zipline & Ropes Course for All Ages
KC Parks and Go Ape, the nation’s premier Zipline & Adventure Park company, opened a brand new addition to the already popular Treetop Adventure course and outdoor Axe Throwing range at Swope Park on August 4, 2021.
The Treetop Journey course gives guests of all ages an opportunity to enjoy an aerial adventure in the trees. It is a welcome addition to the robust amenities already available to families at Swope Park.
“Since the very beginning, GoApe has been an excellent partner and steward of our property in Swope Park, said Doug Schroeder with KC Parks. “The addition of the Treetop Journey course supports our mission to provide more inclusive activities throughout our parks system. It’s exciting to see this almost forgotten area of Swope Park re-discovered and re-activated!”
Go Ape’s Treetop Journey course is a fun-filled experience of tree-to-tree crossings, including 20 obstacles and two zip lines, all while 25 feet above the ground. Safety systems ensure participants stay attached the entire time they are on the course.

It is a great option for kids, beginners and adults who want an introduction to aerial adventure.”
Quick Facts about the Treetop Journey Course
- 20 obstacles and two ziplines, 25 feet in the air
- Costs $29.95 and takes approximately 1 hour to complete
- Open for all ages, but participants must be at least 3’3” tall
- Children under 6 must be accompanied on the course by an adult, while participants age 6 to 15 must be supervised by an adult either accompanying them on the course or from below on the ground.
