Renowned Expert in Town to Clean and Wax Bronze Sculptures

The City of Fountains Foundation is excited to have renowned expert conservator, Jonathan Taggart, in Kansas City to help clean and wax important bronze sculptures in Kansas City.  The Mill Creek Fountain is first on his list. Taggart and his assistant will begin conservation work (cleaning and rewaxing the sculpture) Tuesday at Mill Creek Park.

Later in the week, he will move on to the Wagonmaster sculpture near the InterContinental Kansas City hotel, the Seahorse fountains at City Hall, the Abe Lincoln statue at City Hall and the Andrew Jackson statue in front of the Jackson County Downtown Courthouse. Taggart is a Kansas City native and works all over the world as his reputation as a conservator is well known. He has done work for the Parks Department and the City of Fountains Foundation for many years. His father was a curator of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
