Black women played a crucial role in both WWI and WWII. On the 78th Anniversary of D-Day, join the Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group for Invisible Warriors: African American Women in World War II, a critically acclaimed documentary about the experiences of 600,000 “Rosie the Riveters” who worked in factories and government offices for the first time. Black “Rosies” triumphed over gender and racial discrimination to open doors of opportunity for themselves and future generations of African American women.
