The City of Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce a new partnership with Genesis Health Clubs as the new management company for KC Parks Plaza Tennis Center. With this new partnership comes new opportunities for Kansas Citians to play tennis. Genesis Health Clubs is bringing new tennis related training, exercise and offering Covid-Free tennis using X and O ball method for those who request it.
Rod Zerni, Plaza Tennis Center Director for Genesis says, “We are excited for this opportunity at KC Parks Plaza Tennis Center. This will be a great opportunity to grow the game of tennis to everyone in Kansas City, players of all ages and abilities, we welcome everyone.”
KC Plaza Tennis Center is open Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. To reserve a court, call 816-204-7636. Some of the many opportunities available are:
Cardio Tennis-Heart pumping/fitness/movement/fast paced drills and games all to music and fun.
Play Tennis Fast- Adults can learn how to play tennis in 4 weeks, all basic strokes and receive a free tennis racquet.
Red Ball- For children ages 5-8, teaches young players with special court size, balls and racquets.
Orange Ball- For children 9-10 years old, teaches children at their level
Green Ball- For children 11-13 years old, teaches them control and power on the court and to begin their own style.
Green Teens- for teens 13-16 years old, who are just starting to learn to get into the game.
