{NEWS} Residents still have time to provide feedback on how to best honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As we approach Martin Luther King Jr. Day and celebrate the momentous legacy and achievements of Dr. King, KC Parks encourages our community to submit ideas as to how Kansas City, Missouri can effectively honor Dr. King’s life and continue his vision and core focus of unity.

Mayor Quinton Lucas directed the KC Parks Board of Commissioners to gather public input on how to honor Dr. King’s legacy. We are encouraged at the collective energy and attention put forth by many people of our community to ultimately create a more equitable and robust conversation towards unity in our beloved city.

“It is great to see everyone rallying in a positive manner to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”, says Teresa Rynard, KC Parks Director.  “We look forward to working with the Mayor’s office and the community.”

The deadline to provide input for honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is February 11, 2020.  Suggestions can be emailed to MLKTribute@kcmo.org or mailed to: Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners, c/o MLK Tribute, 4600 E. 63rd Street, Kansas City, MO  64130.
