WHAT
Heartland Tree Alliance, a program of environmental nonprofit Bridging The Gap, and Kansas City Missouri Parks and Recreation will plant 60 trees at the National World War I Museum and Memorial to honor the sacrifices made by America’s military personnel and their families to preserve and promote enduring peace.

Trees will be planted on each side of The Mall to replace lost Maples

Volunteers will plant 60 John Pair Sugar Maples, which are superior to other Sugar Maples for heat, wind and drought tolerance and have beautiful, consistent red fall color. Trees provide environmental, economic, and social benefits that make direct and visible contributions to our quality of life and contribute to a vision of a safe country with vibrant communities.
