MLK Day Self-Guided Nature Walk

Event Navigation

Martin Luther King

Monday, January 18, 2021
All Day
More Information>>

Due to COVID restrictions this year, the event is occurring all day and is a self-guided tour. The 2 walk starts at the MLK Jr. Square Park and runs 2.5 miles along a paved trail and winds along Brush Creek Parkway.

We encourage you to spend time outside, to walk through your own neighborhood. Pay attention to the details of nature and consider the ways humans and nature are connected, and how the Blue River is an asset to the community. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man dedicated to service and it is our duty to follow his guidance and be of service to nature. It is through service to nature and others we can create a healthier future for all.

There is parking available at the starting point. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Please note the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center will be closed.

Route: The walk starts at MLK Jr. Square Park, Kansas City, Mo., and ends at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, 3700 Blue Pkwy, Kansas City, Mo. 64130.
