Event Navigation
Monday, March 22, 2021
6 p.m.
Join Heart of the City Neighborhood Association for a Women’s History Month Celebration highlighting the life of Yvonne Starks Wilson and the park that bears her name. The nearly 100-year old park was created to provide a space for African American residents to enjoy their recreational pursuits without threat or concern of ongoing racial tensions in 1920s Kansas City. The 17.78 acre park is the only KC Park named in honor of an African American woman. Join us to watch the documentary and presentation of the Yvonne Starks Wilson Achievement Award.
