The Heart of America Golf Course offers two challenging nine-hole golf layouts in Swope Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country. The old nine-hole golf course is a par 35 and measures 2,604 yards with very tight target areas.
The nine-hole course is a par 27 course and measures 1,200 yards. The course has several new features. Golfers on Hole Two will tee off across a water feature; on Hole Six they will face a green carved out of the hillside. At hole eight, golfers must hit off a cliff face down to the green.
Heart of America also is a host site for the First Tee of Greater Kansas City, a nationally recognized Junior Golf Program.
Heart of America offers a snack bar, pro shop, locker facilities, putting and chipping greens along with a large driving range with both mat and grass hitting areas. No riding carts allowed on par 3 course.
The Heart of America Golf Academy is home to Kansas City’s only FootGolf course. FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. The game is played with a regulation No. 5 soccer ball at a golf course on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to golf rules. Come out and give it a try!
A paramobile is the equivalent of a one-person golf cart with a very important difference – it allows the person using it to stand, regardless of whether they have the function of their legs or not. Kansas City, MO Parks and Recreation is dedicated to serving all members of the community. The paramobile will allow persons with disabilities to stand and take an actual golf swing. This opens the sport of golf to people who haven’t been able to play due to an accident, or people who have never learned how to play because of a lifelong condition. There is no cost to use the Paramobile, but normal green fees apply. The Paramobile can be reserved for use at any of our golf courses with a 48 hour notice.
