Construction began in March and was recently completed with 31 total parking spaces, two of which are ADA. There is also bicycle parking with a repair station.  KC Parks designed the lot and Mega Industries Corporation was the contractor.  Other interesting facts include:

  • Earthwork – 350+ cubic yards
  • Concrete – 100+ cubic yards
  • Asphalt – 13,700 square feet
  • Trees planted– 41
  • Limestone fence posts installed – 9

In addition to the parking lot opening, a time capsule filled with South KC memorabilia was buried. Plans are for it to be dug up in 2067.  More about the Time Capsule Contents>>
